There was a brawl in the badlands

This past weekend, the Wolf racing team traveled to Attica, Indiana for the 2026 Badlands brawl with Ultra4 USA hosted by the Badlands off-road Park. From our experience in years past, we knew this race was gonna be wet and wild and that’s exactly  what happened! Coming off our race in Moab that also turned into a mud  race we already knew going into Badlands that we would be in for a treat with the mud and the water. Serious storms rolled in Friday evening, making this already wet track even wetter.

Kicking off the weekend with qualifying Paul was able to secure a pole position in both UTV Open and Pro modified classes in his Can-Am Maverick R XRC. 4 seconds faster then the second fastest qualifier in both classes, and only half a second difference between the two qualifiers. On an over 1 mile qualifying loop less than half a second means consistent! Followed by a second place position in the 4400 unlimited class only to be beat out by Philip McGilton by less than a second and in a nearly two minute qualifier.

Moving into racing Friday afternoon Paul would have his first race of the weekend with the  UTV open class. Paul took off with the early lead. And would maintain that lead throughout majority of the race but as the race wore on and more and more mud collected on the car the weight significantly changed and impacted Pauls suspension. Paul also took a tumble on one of the more difficult obstacles on the course and put a serious amount of stress on our drivers rear shock which ultimately failed and broke, taking him out of contention for the race forcing him to retire early, but still securing a fifth place finishing position.

The following afternoon Paul took off in physical 1st position for the UTV pro modified race and maintained the race lead once again for several laps. However due to extreme weather the night before the race course was cut short on distance as well as time. Taking the 12 mile course, and shortening it to 6 miles, and the race clock being dropped from an hour to 45 minutes plus 1 lap. After making the necessary repairs to the car from the previous race.( IE running a different set of shocks that had not been adjusted for race pace due to the lack of time to test beforehand) Paul was plauqed with more issue in the pro modified race. Battling thru until the very end against Cameron Dickie Paul would come in 2nd place overall at the end of the day proving he was pushing hard by securing the fastest lap of the race. Unfortunately the issues he faced dropped his pace as the race wore on. Doing his best to salvage a good finish as well as take care of the rest of the car.

An hour after the finish of the UTV Pro modified race Paul climbed into the 4400 Unlimited truck for his final race of the weekend. Starting in 2nd position Paul took off for lap one, made the physical pass for the lead midway thru the lap and set the fastest lap time of the entire weekend by over an entire minute! Not looking back Paul stretched his lead as the Hour + 1 lap race wore on. Ultimately finishing the race 3:13.090 ahead of second place in the end. Awarding him his 2nd win in a row in 4400 for 2026 and his 33rd  Race Win with Ultra4 USA. Officially making Paul the most successful driver in Ultra4 history. With more race wins then any other competitor that has EVER competed in Ultra4.
