The Wolff racing team traveled to Sturgis, SD for the annual bike week to bring a whole different kind of horsepower to this iconic event! From the moment we arrived we made our presence known! Starting Friday night with AWD burnouts in the 4400 car at the Buffalo chip crossroads vendor show followed by a parade to the main stage and even more burnouts the following two days. Paul showed out and melted down some Nitto tire 40’s while crowds gathered each and every day!
Monday Paul participated in the Annual Legends ride with numerous celebrities and popular names within the motorcycle community and beyond. Having the opportunity to showcase Ultra4 and his race program to a whole new class of fans.
Tuesday kicked off all things Ultra4 USA with practice, qualifying for all classes and then the UTV Pro modified race. The Black Hills throw down takes place at the Buffalo chip motorsports complex. Which is a 6 mile short course style track cut into a hillside.
Paul Was able to qualify in Pole position in the UTV Pro modified class 13 seconds ahead of the second fastest qualifier and again in the 4400 unlimited class with 12 seconds over the second fastest qualifier. After getting a flat tire and then experiencing a rollover during his UTV Open qualifying run Paul ended up 3rd after landing back on his wheels and finishing the remainder of his qualifying run on 3 tires. That same evening Paul would take off in the Pro modified class in 1st position and maintain his lead for the entirety of his race. Setting the fastest lap time by over 10 seconds and finishing his race nearly 2 minutes ahead of second place.
The following day would host the UTV Open and 4400 race. Starting with the UTV Open Paul took the green flag in physical 3rd position for what would be the dustiest race all year…. that was until the rain started. after battling through the first 4 laps in dust so thick you could hardly see the track. A storm cell would move in and turn the track into a muddy mess mid way through the race. As the race wore on Paul was able to make the pass for the physical race lead. Having adjusted time already on his side this would secure his 2nd victory of the weekend with 1 minute lead over second place when the checkered flag was flown. This time securing the fastest lap by over 35 seconds.
Last but not least the 4400 unlimited race. After a good rain storm that took place during the end of the UTV open race and throughout the limited classes race. The storm broke and would create nearly the perfect conditions for the 4400 unlimited race. Taking off once again in 1st position Paul would lead the entirety of the race from start to finish. Putting a serious gap on the field and ultimately finishing 1:16 ahead of second place. Completing the hat trick for the weekend of race wins. Making his 3rd hat trick in Ultra4 racing history and bringing his total Ultra4 race wins to 42.
